Most people hate cleaning around the house, I know I do sometimes, but since living a minimalist lifestyle that I have found tricks to help me make the cleaning process much faster! It still takes time, especially because we have two cats and they leave fur everywhere, and I do mean everywhere, but I still only clean the house once a week, and if I have guests during the week I will clean it the day before the guests arrive.

SOME SIMPLE AND QUICK TIPS YOU NEED TO BE DOING EVERYDAY SO THAT YOUR CLEANING TIME IS MUCH EASIER AND FASTER

simplify the surfaces // try to minimize a number of knick-knacks on your surfaces, more stuff , more dusting and cleaning to do

make your bed every morning // I try to always make my bed every morning, it's a simple way to make your room feel "clean"

don't leave clothes around your house // I never leave clothes or towels around the house, always put them in your laundry basket

everything in its place // I try to keep everything in its place, if I go and get a book, I will put it back after I read it, or if I'm watching TV, I always put the remote in their place after watching TV

no dirty dishes // one trick that is super boring but will prevent dishes from piling up, I always, always, clean the dishes after dinner

AFTER READING MY TIPS, HERE IS WHAT I DO ON MY CLEANING DAY

STEP ONE // the first thing I do is laundry. Since my washing machine takes ages to wash, I start with my dirty clothes, while the clothes are in the washing machine I clean my entire house. And If I have dirty dishes I also do that, so the both machines are doing their job while I clean.

STEP TWO // after taking care of the clothes and dishes I start dusting. I go through every surface and clean and fix things up. I don't have a lot of surfaces to clean, which is awesome, so it's very quick.

STEP THREE // after dusting I will clean my kitchen, which is probably already clean because I do it every night after dinner, but I still like to give it a scrub and disinfect it. Once I clean the counter tops and the kitchen cabinets, I take the dishes out of the washing machine.

STEP FOUR // after doing the kitchen I will clean the bathroom. Clean the bathroom sink and put everything in its place (the boyfriend always leaves a mess), I clean the toilet and the shower.

STEP FIVE // after cleaning the bathroom I will make the bed if it's not already made, and I will vacuum the floors, all at once. And I will also vacuum the rugs! After that, I just need to wash the floors and I'm done!

  1. Adorei ler as tuas dicas.

I'm planning on making a post on my cleaning products, because I only use organic products that I make, so stay tuned for that =)

  6. I think I clean like that about once a month! Except I do tidy up everything every night ... so put dishes in dishwasher, wipe countertop, sink, toilet, put clothes in laundry basket etc. and run dishwasher/laundry whenever needed. I am amazed at your discipline to do all that weekly! I do hire house cleaners though between my own cleaning if I don't feel like doing the whole thing.
